default buttons in properties dialog

Bug Description
When pressing "Escape" in the properties dialog, the window gets closed as expected - but the console shows an "unexpected button" message. This should not be.
Furthermore, the "ok" button should be defaulted so by pressing return in a spinner, the dialog should automatically save and close.
