Bug Description
Binary package hint: xchat-indicator
You cannot enable the Messaging Indicator plugin in XChat GNOME, it is set to disabled and when you close the preference after having toggled the plugin and re-open the preferences window you can see that the plugin is set to disabled again.
However, there is an XChat GNOME entry in the messaging menu.

Strangely, after a reboot, the plugin is now enabled.
