Bug Description

Someone asked me about a song that I bought from the store. I'd like to send them a link to it, pasted into IM, IRC, twitter or email. I _could_ go to the 7digital store and get a link from there, but you lose revenue then, and they need to sign up - not using their U1 account.

I would like to be able to right click a song in the store and have that generate some kind of funky store://u1ms/artist/track or similar that I could send to friends. Of course in the future it would be nice to have a referral link in that store://u1ms/artist/track?r=popey so that I get a cut, but that's less of an issue. I'm more interested in being able to easily link to tracks in the store.

When a user clicks the link it should open RB and take them directly to the store where they can preview/download the track.

This should be filed against libubuntuone, I think, as there's no way for store clients to go to a specific url.

Popey - This is definitely on our wishlist. We want to enable sharable and tweetable links into the store. I think it will require some changes to Ubuntu so browser links will open Rhythmbox and the music store but we'll investigate. Thanks!

Preferably, such a link should also be embeded in the song metadata (or such a link should be constructable from song data, e.g. using an embedded UUID-like string or some sort of a hash or whatever), so that you can send a link to your friend if she/he likes a particular song you're playing.

(E.g.: the store could support CDDB/FreeDB or MusicBrainz or other album database keys as search items?)

Pretty sure this is fixed since we have u1ms:// links and some pretty web pages that provide those links for linking from twitter/etc.
