Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager-pptp

After upgrading from karmic to lucid, configuring or connecting to PPTP VPN servers using the network manager applet fails with:

There was a problem launching the authentication dialog for VPN connection type 'org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.pptp'. Contact your system administrator.

I guess this is because the ui components have been moved into network-manager-pptp-gnome, and installing that package fixes the problem, however it should really be handled during the upgrade

Marked bug 534218 as a duplicate of this one: network-manager-pptp and network-manager-pptp-gnome dependencies and suggests/recommends need to be adjusted to provide a seemless upgrade from Karmic to Lucid.

Changed in network-manager-pptp (Ubuntu):
status: New → Confirmed
importance: Undecided → Medium

Marking this bug as a duplicate of bug 516854, since it's already targetted for lucid beta-2.
