Bug Description

Binary package hint: ubiquity

RELEASE: Lucid Lynx
CD/DVD VARIANT: 32bit Ubuntu Desktop cd
ISO BUILD: daily build from 2010-03-10

SYMPTOMS: After the installation completed, I clicked on "restart". The system began the shutdown process, the cd drawer opened, the status indicator kept changing colors. I removed the cd, closed the drawer, and looked at the screen. There was no prompt to hit enter to continue, but I hit it anyway. Nothing happened. The caps lock key had no effect, I could not switch to a different tty, and I could not continue. I had to use the hardware reset switch to restart the computer.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

   1. Insert the desktop cd in the system
   2. Allow to start itself with out hitting any keys
   3. From the 'Install' screen, choose to "Install 10.04"
   4. After completion, click on "Restart"

Can not run ubiquity with debug= , and can not select any options, since the old menu no longer appears. The only choices given on the install page are to select the language and then select to "Try 10.04" or "Install 10.04"

I believe this is the same as mine:

But you did do a much better job of gathering info.

I suppose the two should be merged, I'll mark yours confirmed.

Changed in ubiquity (Ubuntu):
