Gwibber does not work with Notifications

Don't have a config to iconify gwibber in the notification area, and new twitts from other people are not shown as notifications.

If you are already using using and there is indicator-applet in your panels click on the envelop looking icon and see there is Microblogging entry that is gwibber and if you close gwibber it will minimize to indicator-messages.

I don't use the indicator-applet, because it integrates stuff not the way that I want.

Even using it, closing gwibber will not minimize to it: it will close it, and to open it again I need to enter in the indicator-applet menu, search for it, and open it. Unacceptable.

I'd love to have a way to minimize it to a easily-visible icon in the notification area!

Even if you use indicator applet or not you get a notification bubble when your name is mentioned in a comment. (even if gwibber is closed (gwibber-services is running)) isnt that the case?
