Rhythmbox does not show tray notifications when VirtualBox is running

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

When I hover mouse over the rhythmbox icon usually it displays song info. When a new song starts also shows a notification (in a different layout on ubuntu).

But when I start VirtualBox (using the non ose version) rhtythmbox stops showing notifications of any type.

the issue is likely to not be a rhythmbox one since rhythmbox doesn't change there it seems rather virtualbox is doing something which breaks notifyosd

well the thing is that empathy continues to show the notifications, only noticed this behavior with rhythmbox.

Haven't tested on Karmic yet but that is working fine with Lucid ; I'm using Hardy on a virtual machine and listening to music with rhythmbox, no problem at all the notifications are there, could you test the same with Lucid and comment back? Thanks in advance.

Right now I can't reproduce on karmic, I don't know it it was updates I've done or not. you could close the bug and it it happens again I'll post more results/detailed tests about this.
I know that older versions of ubuntu all had this problem.
Let's hope it does not come back.
