Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus

history:
my laptop is LG S1 Express Dual with ATI card and some sound card that alsa do not recognize.
I did install livetohack 9.04 distribution
I did install ATI driver.
I did install new Alsa to configure alsa configs to run my sound card.

After everthing works well, i just couldnot wait for 10.4 and...
I upgraded my livetohack 9.04 distribution to 9.10 from update menu on gnome.

while upgrading it tried to remove Pin** sth and evolution and some other stuff. I asks me to remove some gnome stuff and I did click YES.

At last I come doen to DOS without any gui, where i could not run internet. I tried everything. it just does not work.

Then I learned what it means Alternative CD is. It downloaded it to my shitty desktop to my cell phone with usb. then from there to ubuntu with some terminal work.

Then with alternative 9.10 iso file i mount it into cdrom0 then install ubuntu-gnome. At last i did see some gui, however nautulus keeps crshing and i do not have title bar in any window.

I internet works, i tried installing ubuntumedia-desktop (or sth like that), then in the first log on i did see some title bar, but then lost it again FOREVER.

I am going to try now kubuntu. but i love gnome, please please please help me

(i do not know it is related but somewhere i was ditching ubuntu hard i did see some msg like, gzip package not found.)
