Bug Description

Binary package hint: pdns-recursor

Version 3.2 of powerdns recursor was just released. It would be awesome if this could make it into Ubuntu 10.04.

I second that notion.

Please note that due to the packet cache, that has been tested extensively with PowerDNS server, the recursor will now answer frequent queries even faster thus resulting in even better performance in ISP scenarios.

It's probably wise to use a packet-cache-ttl default of 10 or 60 seconds in distribution.

I took the liberty of building some packages, you can get them from my PPA for now. Please test it, any feedback welcome.

I basically took the latest from Lucid (3.1.7.2) and updated it with the new source (see changelog for what I did).

The package from Debian unstable works fine so a sync should be no problem.

I've "sync'ed" from Debian testing to https://launchpad.net/~cemc/+archive/pdns/ like 2 weeks ago, and using it on my Hardy box since then. No problems detected yet.
