Bug Description
I have an Acer 5738 z laptop. The screen brightness does not increase or decrease when I use linux mint or ubuntu. It has Mobile intel graphics media accelerator 4500M. The screen brightness remains at a constant levels and the battery gets discharged very soon because of it. The battery lasts for 3 and a half hours in windows. But, when using linux, the battery lasts just for 1 and a half hours. The brightness always remains at max and I'm not able to use my laptop in the night as the screen is over bright. I need some help over this issue.

This also is a problem on my Asus U80A laptop. Same problem with Ubuntu 10.04
