kdebase runtime updates wants to install un needed programs

Binary package hint: synaptic

I have k3b and some kde games which need kdebase runtime. Update wants to install as if I am running kde. I am only using ubuntu.

Apart k3b, which package were you trying to install ? The dependencies probably came with the 'recommended' list.

I am not trying to install any package. I allready have k3b and a few kde games installed on ubuntu. Kde base-runtime is required for any kde program to run. There is a kdebase- runtime update to be installed it wants to install stuff I dont need for those applications. Thing that would only be needed for kubuntu-desktop which I dont have and dont use.Such as gdebi-kde,install package,kdesud.kpacketkit and many more. All are new installs. Again I dont need kubuntu-desktop to run a couple of games and k3b. thanks again

kdebase-runtime now recommends kubuntu-debug-installer to allow the crash hander to install debug symbols, this uses kpackagekit. If you don't want this installed then install with --no-recommends
