Bug Description
Binary package hint: rcconf
In Ubuntu (karmic), running rcconf or update-rc.d is not enough to prevent a service from starting up at boot time. Instead, service file names need to be modified in /etc/init/ to not end in *.conf anymore.
This somehow mixes implementation details (upstart vs. sysv) with management interfaces (rcconf, update-rc.d). Furthermore, it requires more conditional code to distinguish between Debian and Ubuntu machines.
It would be nice if the well-known command-line tools to enable and disable services would work flawlessly with upstart.

Still a problem in Maverick. Is there any GUI app in KDE to configure boot services?
