Bug Description

Binary package hint: liblame0

Whenever I attemt an install of liblame I am greeted with this error

(Reading database ... 266789 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking liblame0 (from .../liblame0_3.97-0.0_i386.deb) ...
dpkg: error processing /home/*********/Downloads/liblame0_3.97-0.0_i386 (1).deb (--install):
trying to overwrite '/usr/lib/libmp3lame.so.0.0.0', which is also in package libmp3lame0 0:3.98.2+debian-0ubuntu2
dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe)
Errors were encountered while processing:
 /home/*********/Downloads/liblame0_3.97-0.0_i386.deb

I was attempting to name the packages as "liblame/libmp3lame" but it was saying there was an error. Can anyone fix that too?

there is nothing to fix in the lame package. ubuntu doesn't ship a liblame0 package anymore since hardy. it was renamed to libmp3lame since then.

Changed in lame (Ubuntu):
