No sound in Karmic after update to 2.6.31-20

Bug Description
After a standard update in kubuntu karmic to the last kernel version (2.6.31-20) I get no sound from any application.

I have already tried linux-backports -modules- alsa-karmic- generic and the PPA from Ubuntu Audio Development Team with no luck.
