Bug Description

Both svn-import and "bzr branch" on an SVN repo fail with "out of memory". While working, the bzr allocates a couple of MB per second, without freeing. I've seen spikes of over 1 GB, which were released again. How can I get more debug info on this?

I tried it with Bzr 2.1 on a different machine (less RAM) and another SVN branch (http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/httpd/httpd/trunk). The bzr process slowly grew from about 20 MB to 660 MB, but didn't abort.

Does the repository contain any particularly large files or perhaps a lot of reasonably large files?

The only way of doing memory debugging I'm aware of is using meliae (https://launchpad.net/meliae)
