Alex, I can't find the webcam model from the log, do you know what's the webcam model name of the machine?

I couldn't find the webcam model, neither the exact HP Mini 1000 model. According to HP website It looks like there are several Mini 1000 models and there's no information about the webcams. If I'll find some more information I'll post it as soon as possible.

im having similar problem- my girlfriend just got a hp mini 110-1134cl - I deleted the windows 7 starter installed ubuntu netbook remix- now the internal cam won't work- oddly enough, there was a linux system already installed as a quick loader- , and from what i read it was ubuntu based - so hp has linux drivers, for the mini 110's but i can't find them anywhere.

Alex, could you downgrade to the old version of kernel you mentioned that works to see if there is any useful info about the webcam model?
I place the old kernel here, please have it a test.

The tests I was talking about that reported the camera working, were automated tests and they reported the camera as detected. When I did the certification test myself, the "camera/detect" test from checkbox shows this value:

"port 70-85
    type : Xvideo, image scaler
    name : Intel(R) Textured Video"

but the tests that check camera/display, camera/still, camera/video they all fail as the camera doesn't work. With the kernels following the 2.6.32-14-generic_2.6.32-14.20_i386 kernel, the "camera/detect" test shows this value:

"This is xawtv-3.95.dfsg.1, running on Linux/i686 (2.6.32-15-generic) No protocol specified Error: Can't open display: :0.0"

but the camera isn't working. So far I can't find any indication in the test logs that the camera worked at some point. So it may not be a regression. I'll look into it to be sure.

Finally, after doing some more testing, I am sure that the camera is broken on my particular notebook, as the microphone from the camera works.
