Bug Description

Binary package hint: light-themes

If the panel is set to transparent background (with the Human theme), the entire panel is transparent.

If Ambiance or Radiance (or New Wave) is selected as the theme, then the indicator area has a non-transparent colored background instead.

fact is:

a pretty panel and no transparent- and scaling-features or a flat ugly (normal) panel but all features working as usual.

I'm using pannels with tranparency and scaling (>24 default pixels in height). Looks not good right now :(

jgv: yes, I got it, but I mean that there is one common problem for all panels and new elements such as those nice trash and indicators...

Irrespective of what people use ,the importance is the same.

It is a cosmetic , which does not limit the functionality of the application.

@Vish. It DOES limit the functionality of this theme! Especially users with a visual or motorial impairment need to resize elements or differentiate contrast behaviour. With the current limitations in functionality they will not adopt the new themes. In my opinion a missed opportunity in promoting Ubuntu.

scaling for the panel is now set in the gconf of every new user (we don't touch existing users settings by default)

Affects mee too. I like to have both - upper and bottom panel FULLY transparent. This is ugly. All dark themes should aloow FULL panel transparency. Its worse than brown. That's why dark themes should never be in the main distro, in the first place. Remove the NON-TRANSPARENCY OF PANELS!!
