Bug Description

Binary package hint: software-center

The design of the main screen of sofware-center got updated by the design team. Apparently there was some misunderstanding about when exactly the freeze would go into effect so the changes are a bit late. I file a UI freeze exception therefore.

The new layout is a visual refresh that also makes the "featured" category more prominent.

Rationale for freeze exception:

The new Ubuntu brand was made public yesterday. This design needed to be implemented after the brand roll-out, as the project is public.

This is fine, but please coordinate with the doc team, since software-center is probably prominently pointed out in the docs. (ubuntu-doc subscribed, but please get in touch with them).

Bug 546627 supplies some missing icons. It would be super-awesome if they could be included in this exception.
