Default Home Page without style or images on offline mode

Binary package hint: ubufox

The default Home Page doesn't show images or CSS when I work on offline mode.
I'm using Lucid alpha3 updated just a few minutes ago.
Steps
1) remove (or backup) ~/.mozilla
2) start Firefox with my internet connection working.
3) click on the Home button
4) shows the Ubuntu Start Page correctly, the location bar shows about:home
5) click on File->Work Offline
6) click on the Home button again
7) show the local start page but without CSS or images, only text, the location bar shows about:home

Also, localisation doesn't work too. I can see the issue here though

There are multiple issues here:

1) Loading the CSS is blocked by the about: protocol handler in firefox (this can be fixed in Ubufox)

2) The about: protocol handler in firefox doesn't support relative URI's (so the css files must be referenced with absolute paths in ubuntu-docs)

3) The ubufox code to assemble the localised offline page URI is not activated anywhere, so the non-localised page always loads (which is easy to fix)

No, that's an intentional feature of the handler

I'm not clear what the feature is - it sounds like a regression to me given that this page has always worked fine in previous releases.

We can update the uris in ubuntu-docs if necessary and I'll take your word for it that there are advantages to this change, but it's pretty unfortunate that this wasn't identified earlier as it won't now be fixed for the release.

The page was loaded differently in previous releases (not using the about protocol handler, but using a chrome URI to load some javascript to resolve the correct URI for the start page). Yes, it's a shame this wasn't discovered earlier.

I've fixed the other 2 issues in a bzr branch for ubufox already

I don't think this is a problem with ubuntu-docs. Incidentally this page appears to me to be working in current maverick.
