Nibbles uses 100% of cpu

Nibbles uses high amounts of CPU and runs slowly. CPU usage was low in karmic and has increased since I upgraded to lucid. CPU usage is only high when playing. the opening menu is fine and CPU usage is normal when paused.

Thanks for the report, i cannot confirm it uses a very low amount of CPU, are you running compiz? could you try to disable that and test again? which video driver are you using?

disabling compiz helps some. After the latest updates, CPU usage is now around 50%. this is still higher than before but can be explained by the graphic upgrades on the game and a poor graphics card.

Works fine with nibbles 2.30.0 on lucid, CPU usage is really low, system monitor says 4%. Could you please test it with this version too?

CPU usage is normal now, however, nibbles runs slower than ever. I have enabled KMS to fix a bug that prevents me from booting, and that could have changed something.
