Bug Description

When the computer starts. Everything is fine sound works.

It shoud be

mute = amber > sound everywhere
or
mute = yellow > mute

The mute has a lead which shows the color.

After a while( i have not been able to pindown when yet)

The mute button goes out of sync(ie yellow while gnome says its not muted) and the laptop speakers stop working however if i plugin headphones they still work but mute is inversed.

One more thing. When i press the mute button, when its out of sync, i get a short short sound(less than half a second). So sound is working just gnome get outs of sync with the hardware mute of the speakers.

Laptop is HP probook 4310s.

Hi Anders,

If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.
