Bug Description

Today I have tried to restore one file (in hidden folder, in my home) but I have been unpleasantly surprised because BiT (gnome) doesn't show the hidden files/folders. :-(

Use the toolbar button at the right of "current path" edit box to show/hide hidden files.
The state is save for the next time you run the GUI.

Changed in backintime:

Thanks. I did not think a button, with the plus symbol, was to show hidden files. ¿?

I ran into this, too. I didn't even bother to read the tooltip of the plus button.

Wouldn't it be a good idea to change the look of the "show hidden files" button, or at least implement the Ctrl+H shortcut, like in Nautilus? Without knowing the plus button, I kept hitting Ctrl+H all the time without success ;)
