Login screen restarts when "2" is typed

Very weird bug. When I type password on login screen, number 2 inside password triggers restart of X. When password is retyped after X restart, all is OK.

I am also on Alpha3 AMD64. And it doesn't matter where in the password I type the two it restarts X regardless, then fine after the restart.

I don't think it's just the number two, x crash for me but thats when I put in @. However, @ i located on the 2 button.

This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. For future reference you might be interested to know that a lot of applications have bug reporting functionality built in to them. I tried this like crazy, been typing 2's all over the place. Can't seem to reproduce it. Too bad, this is one of those "fun" bugs, although quite critical.
So it does not seem to be happening for everybody.
I tested this on lucid alpha2 and alpha3 64bit.

It looks like its not just restricted to pressing "2" in the password box, but at anytime when the login prompt is loading.

As I see, pressing 2 causes the same visible and audible behaviour than writing a wrong password and pressing enter.

I have a Hungarian keyboard. If I press Alt Gr+V (which is @), it doesn't cause a restart. If I press Shift+2 (which is "), it does cause a restart.

There are differences between the first login screen and the further ones:
- Key 2 causes immediate failure (restart) on the first screen, works normally on other screens.
- Key 2 on numeric keypad does not cause restart on the first screen, but the password will not be accepted regardless of the state of Num Lock. On other screens Num Lock + numpad 2 works like it should (password is accepted).
- On the first login screen key R switches on Scroll Lock and key W switches it off. Scroll Lock key does not work. Other login screens don't have this weird behaviour.

Removing plymouth package is a workaround. (But I would never find this bug if it was filed as a plymouth bug.)

I have a clean install of lucid alpha 3 on AMD64. Removing proprietary nvidia driver does not make a difference.
