Bug Description
Binary package hint: cryptsetup
Description: Ubuntu lucid (development branch)
Release: 10.04
My system no longer boots, I believe after this upgrade in Lucid:
[INSTALL, DEPENDENCIES] plymouth
[UPGRADE] cryptsetup 2:1.1.0~
I usually run with the boot options "quiet splash" removed, and this worked fine in Karmic and in Lucid up to that upgrade. Now after the output "Running scripts/init-top" I should be asked for my passphrase for /, however, nothing happens. With SysRq+T I can see that cryptsetup is running, however.
With "splash" I am asked for my passphrase but no input is accepted (tried with the correct keymap and the default keymap).
This is a regression from Karmic.
My setup is fairly innocent, /boot is unencrypted, / and /home are encrypted with LUKS, swap is encrypted with a random key and there is another data partition, encrypted with LUKS (which is new).
I can still boot with my old initramfs that I restored from backup.
I forgot to mention, I use kernel version 2.6.33- 020633rc8- generic (because that is the latest one that I have a working initramfs for).
