Bug Description

Binary package hint: devscripts

My package has a version number like "5.0+dfsg-1", which uscan interprets as greater than remote's version:

lfaraone@Opus:~/Projects/ppt/cmospwd/trunk$ uscan --dehs
<dehs>
<package>cmospwd</package>
<debian-uversion>5.0+dfsg</debian-uversion>
<debian-mangled-uversion>5.0+dfsg</debian-mangled-uversion>
<upstream-version>5.0</upstream-version>
<upstream-url>http://www.cgsecurity.org/cmospwd-5.0.tar.bz2</upstream-url>
<status>Debian version newer than remote site</status>
</dehs>

Ideally the +dfsg would be cut out from the version number.

Thank you for your report.

(Current) versions of uscan are able to 'unmangle' the version. he man page contains an example how to filter '.dfsg' from a version, adapting it to '+dfsg' is not too hard I suppose.
You should take a look at the 'per-site options' and specifically to the 'uversionmangle' option

Please update this report, whether this solves your problem/wish or not.
