Bug Description

Binary package hint: ia32-libs

After I updated to lucid the installation of skype I had developed a strange issue. I use a dual monitor setup, using an external monitor attached to my laptop. When the skype window is on the laptop monitor it won't display dropdown menus when I press the buttons. It doesn't matter if the external monitor is configured to be on the right or left. If I move the window to the external monitor or disable the external monitor completely, everything works fine. This affects both drop down buttons in windows and the icon on the notification area. Since skype hasn't changed I'm assuming this is either a bug in the qt libraries it depends on or some subtle change in behavior of X that skype doesn't handle properly.

Exactly the same behavior on Lucid Netbook on a Dell Mini 9 with a 1280x1024 external panel.

I don't have an ia32-libs package installed.

I have libqtcore4 4.6.1-1ubuntu2.

I submitted the bug to ia32-libs because I'm running a 64 bits system and that's what provides the Qt skype is using. I guess the bug is idependent of architecture so should be reassigned to the Qt package instead.

This bug only manifests itself if the desktop is not composited. I tried the same thing using both compiz and gnome-shell and the problem went away.

Could someone please confirm this is in fact a bug and move it to the libqtcore4 package?

affects: ia32-libs (Ubuntu) → qt4-x11 (Ubuntu)

There is no support on such deprecated version; that one has died long time ago.

Changed in qt4-x11 (Ubuntu):
