files are re-downloaded if moved externally

Bug Description

If one move outside qBT files of a torrent being seeded, qBitTorrent (after restart) automatically re-downloads these files to original location. This is definitely not good. I expect that missing files should just set theirs torrent to appropriate warning/error state. This issue is probably connected with the ticket 508435.

Strange, but the bug returned... I've noticed that qBitTorrent 2.8.2 quietly re-downloads deleted files.

I'm also having this issue with 2.9.3 on LinuxMint 12.

downloaded files that have been deleted or moved from the download directory are randomly re-downloaded by qBittorrent. This looks and feels like a problem (bug), but it is currently categorized as a "wishlist" item.

I, too, wish for this bug to be fixed. ;)

I too am experiencing this problem. Ubuntu 11.10

Really pissing me off, this is messing with my ratio and this is making me want to go back to windows.
Have yet to get any torrent program working...
absolutely pathetic

Seriously! Kubuntu 11.10. qBittorrent 2.8.4
Had all of my downloaded torrents on an external drive. Unplugged the drive while moving the laptop. I accidentally started qBittorrent without plugging the external drive back in. *ALL* torrents started re-downloading to default qb-Dir immediately filling up my home partition.

I am currently in the process of resetting the download location of all of my torrents back to the external drive and then rechecking everything. For some reason all of my tags are gone too. Reproducible.

Christophe -- have you made any headway on this issue?

I am running 2.8.4 from the Linux Mint 12 repositories (essentially, ubuntu 11.10) 64-bit.

The "randomly re-added/re-downloaded torrents", at least every one I've seen it happen on here, are all torrents that matched download rules in my RSS feeds. I haven't (yet) seen this occur with manually added torrent files.

...but it still happens each and every day. I have to keep television shows I've already watched sitting in my download directory, and set the torrents (globally, because there's no per-torrent option, :hint: :hint:) to seed to 0.0 and pause, to keep from constantly re-downloading and or re-seeding them throughout the week.

please let me know if I can add any more information that helps you find and quash this bug.
