Also I'm running an IBM T23, and the way I get out of the mess is to hit Cntl-Alt F1

I found many similar problems that were fixed by modifying the acpi-support file.
I did not have one of these because I never installed the package "acpi-support" however, after I did, I could still not fix the problem using what people have previously done.

Thanks!

Well I seem to have fixed it, I was using

#!/bin/sh
# suspend
echo -n "mem" > /sys/power/state

in /etc/acpi/suspend.sh

but I realized that while this did work fine in breezy, I maby should go by the book since now it wasn't working. So from ThinkWiki I found their script

http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/How_to_configure_acpid

and it works, though it is bit slow.

Problem solved.

Ok, the bug is not completely fixed by what I described above. Apparently while the mouse does not freeze anymore after resume, it does freeze if I quit X and go to a command line and then return.
