Bug Description

The background is misplaced 1px to the right which leaves a 2px white border on left side.
The misplacement continues to the external monitor, which also has a 2px wide bar from the left-placed image. If the left side monitor is of smaller height than the right one, some of the 2px border is shown as background image instead.

It may also happen, that right-placed external monitor has white 2px borders both on top and right edges.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. I have classified this bug as a bug in xorg.

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport, either via the appropriate application's "Help -> Report a Problem" menu or using 'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

I bet nautilus is appropriate package. GDM does not handle background image.

It being hw-specific is *very* unlikely. Otherwise would panels and windows also be misplaced.
It appears as well on a single monitor. Change your background to solid black to see a white 1px border on the left side of the monitor.

I've noticed this also, but only with dual-monitor setup. I don't know if it's Nautilus causing this though. I'll investigate it next time I see it

I added the tag HW-Specific due to it requires a duel monitor setup to create. Not everyone is lucky enough to have duel monitors.
