The provided log file traces the crash to: 6[8048000+ 1d3000]

As segfaults in the python interpreter are usually a sign of a bad CD burn, can you please first verify the MD5 checksum of the CD image you downloaded. If the checksums match, then either create a USB install disk (using usb-creator or another tool), or burn the CD at a slower speed, and try the install again, then report back here.
