Bug Description
If I plug in an external hard disk in a USB box on my Ubuntu 6.06 machine (SHUTTLE XPC ST20G5), it doesn't work.
I get the following message in /var/log/syslog :

If I unplug the disk, then type : sudo modprobe -r ehci_hcd and then plug the disk back in, it works... I can mount it, but the disk is extremely slow (maybe 8 to 10 times slower than it should be).
Probably a kernel bug... but not sure. Anybody can reproduce? It was also signaled long ago on the forum : http://

Something very similar happening for me too with a Kingston U3 1MB usb drive.
I found that the drive does mount correctly if it is plugged in before the computer is started, but that plugging in to a running system only occasionally (about one in five attempts or less) leads to a mounted device, sometimes several minutes after plugging it in. I've seen similar output to the above (in ../log/messages) , but without the error lines, when this happens. Once mounted it works fine.
The device mounts promptly and reliably on a running Breezy system.
