Bug Description
Binary package hint: gdm
After a fresh boot of Lucid, installed from a daily live image, GDM appears for a few seconds (just long enough to click my username and start typing my password), then disappears and re-loads to a blank login screen, so I have to start the login process again.
Subsequent logouts, switch user etc are not affected -- this only occurs once when the system has been freshly booted.
My current driver is nvidia, but it also happened with the default Free Software driver for this card before I installed the binary one (I'm not sure whether the default is nv or nouveau).

Thank you for your bug report, could you uninstall plymouth and see if that makes a difference?
