Istanbul freezes when I start recording

Bug Description

Binary package hint: istanbul

I install Istanbul, and run it from Applications->Sound and Video->Istanbul Desktop Session Recorder. A red dot appears in the tray. I click it to start recording, it changes to a transparent box, and stops responding, unless I kill it, or start a new application as. The second case has been reported as bug #3647 on Malone

Confirmed on dapper.

I compiled and installed latest release, 0.1.2, which uses gstreamer 0.10.
It works perfectly.

Ok, then this is fixed in edgy which has 0.2.1-0ubuntu1. It may be worth asking for a backport to dapper for istanbul.
