Synaptic just crashed while staying in the background with no activity.

Recent changes:
I 've changed the permissions for /usr/lib/gnome-applets/cpufreq-applet. Since that time i've noticed problems with applets not loading after logging in. and intermittent applicetion crashes (e.g. synaptic, bonobo ...).
