Please include Mustek firmware

Hi,

Lots of Ubuntu users have troubles with usb scanners, because most of them needs firmware files, but Ubuntu doesn't distribute these files :(

For example our company has Trust Direct Webscan 19200 scanner, wich works fine with gt68xx sane backend, but only when I download Mustek firmware from http://www.meier-geinitz.de/sane/gt68xx-backend/ manually and put ps1fw.usb file into /usr/share/sane/gt68xx/

Mustek firmware is freely redistributable, according to the authors of gt68xx-backend (look at http://www.meier-geinitz.de/sane/gt68xx-backend/ )
If there are some different firmware files, which should have same name, then we should provide debconf wizard and alternatives mechanizm to choose (make symlink to) needed file in /usr/share/sane/gt68xx/

It would be nice to include Mustek scanners firmware into Baltix GNU/Linux as default, I think :)

Thanks for your report. Your idea might get more attention and have the possibility of being implemented if you submit a specification for it. First check whether the idea is already registered ([WWW] https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+specs), and if so, contact the specification's drafter about your ideas. Otherwise, you can start writing a spec yourself. [WWW] https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FeatureSpecifications

You will get more response from devs here than as a bug hope it helps.
