Exaile 3.1 does not work with Panflute

If you have Exaile 3.1 installed and chosen as default in Panflute, the panel button does run the player but then nothing happens with Panflute, no play controls etc it behaves as if the player was not opened.

I do not think this is the same situation as 515253 I'm talking about 3.1 not 3.01 and the problem there is Panflute not seeing that Exaile is playing, with 3.1 Panflute seems not to see that it has been opened at all.

My mistake; I misread the description and thought you were talking about the play button not working correctly.

Did you active the MPRIS plugin in Exaile ? That solved the problem for me !

i have the same problem. I have enabled the MPRIS plugin in Exaile but that does not change anything. I cannot control exaile from the panel and cannot see the playing song.
Furthermore, this bug is inherited from the music aplet 2.0.5. I cannot get that one working with exaile either.

I haven't changed anything that should effect whether Exaile shows up correctly or not. Can you try the following steps to get more details about what's doing on?

1. Remove the Panflute applet from the panel.
2. Kill any panflute-daemon process that may still be running.
3. Run the command "panflute-daemon -d" from the command line to run it in debug mode.

The debugging information should indicate whether it detects Exaile running, and indicate any errors that cause it to fail.

MPRIS plugin activating helped me

I'm using Exaile 0.3.1.1 (from Ubuntu Lucid repo) with MPRIS plugin active and Panflute 0.6.2 (from PPA), and it's working. Just some seekbar issues...

From various comments here, it seems that MPRIS plugin solves the problem. Does this plugin deserve being enable by default in Exaile or not? In all cases, this bug seems more like an enhancement request than a real bug.
