Release to staging broken

Both 0.25 and rev414 fail when trying 'quickly release --staging', with this message:

 quickly release --staging
 WARNING: you are using staging and not launchpad real production server
 Get Launchpad Settings
 Launchpad connexion is ok
 ppa:p-vasic:staging does not exist. Please create one on launchpad before releasing
 ERROR: release command failed
 Aborting

Judging by bug #470192[1], "ppa:p-vasic:staging" seems to be a typo in packaging.py, which should read as "ppa:p-vasic/staging", but even after creating ppa named staging, the release command fails.
