Bug Description

I can offer limited additional information: only that the apport dialog box suddenly appeared about three hours into a KDE session. I had performed a "full-upgrade" with aptitude at the beginning of the session. aptitude had reported no potential problems.

Most likely an issue with either aptitude or dpkg.

Hmm, you probably had done this upgrade with PackageKit.
