Bug Description
I was doing the test case at http://
# Boot with functioning proprietary driver
# Locate the driver's kernel module (nvidia.ko or fglrx.ko under /lib/modules)
# Move kernel module aside (mv nvidia.ko nvidia-backup.ko)
# Reboot
# Verify an error is displayed (or appears in Xorg.0.log, syslog, and/or dmesg) that the video driver kernel module is missing
# Verify system falls back to the open source driver (-nv, -nouveau or -vesa for nvidia hardware, -ati or -vesa for ati hardware)
# Go to System : Administration : Hardware Drivers
# Verify utility permits reinstallation of the missing kernel module. <- This fails.
I Go to jockey and select the current nvidia driver.
Then I tried to activate it and I enter my password. Then I breifly see a progress bar that is going back and forth, and apport comes up to report a bug. The jockey window does not crash, however, you are back to square one.
