Bug Description
Binary package hint: adept
When I have attempted to install certain packages in Kubuntu 6 using the Adept installer, if there are any package conflicts, instead of resolving these, or refusing to install the packages, Adept looses all functionality and literally becomes a "read only" application.
This is a permanent condition, not fixed by reboot, or shutting down all background running applications. The only way I have found to fix this is a complete Kubuntu reinstall.

Thank you for filing this bug.
Do you still have this problem in Edgy?
While adept isn't very smart with broken packages, I haven't heard of anything like this. It marks conflicting packages as BREAK.
