I am indeed using the crossfading backend, under karmic.

Pedro, was your test under Lucid or Karmic?

I am unable to test in Lucid for now; can anyone else test with Lucid? In order to ensure that the bug is duplicated, please allow yourself to listen to music for maybe 30 minutes, so that many songs are played one after another.

By the way, I was able to reproduce the same behavior connecting to colleagues' computers sharing their music with DAAP.

Just tested with the Lucid beta 2 LiveCD. I was able to reproduce the bug :
 - activated the crossfading
 - played a few 4-5 minutes songs, and then two songs started to play in the same time,

One more test : the bug cannot be reproduced if crossfading is not activated.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running apport-collect <bug #> and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
