Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

Marc,
To help with the installation problems you can follow this blog post:
http://ln-s.net/54Bn

Please update your client to the newest version ubuntuone-client 1.0.3. You can make sure your client is up to date by running System > Administration > Update Manager.

Also you might want to delete your syncdaemon.conf. I noticed in your logs bandwidth throttling is set to -1. This is a bug that has been fixed in the newer ubuntuone-client. You can do that by running the following command in a Terminal:

rm ~/.config/ubuntuone/syncdaemon.conf

Let us know how this goes.
thank you,
