Bug Description

Binary package hint: xorg

I have a Dell Latitude E6400 and I'm trying to get my Acer AL2216W to work with the DVI port on the dock. Sometimes I can get it to come up at boot, otherwise Xorg never sees it. The Intel driver must be lacking something because this all works just fine in Windows 7. I tried the Kubuntu Lucid Alpha 2 livecd and it doesn't work either. I installed drivers from xorg-edgers and it still doesn't work.

I'm currently running Kubuntu 9.10

This issue was reported against karmic, so can you confirm if this issue exists with the most recent Lucid Lynx 10.04 Alpha release? ISO CD images are available at http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/lucid/ . Thanks in advance.

I just got a new Monitor, Hanns-G HH201 and it works just fine. I'm using a cable that has an HDMI plug on on end and a DVI plug on the other. It's working on the DVI port on the dock and with my Display Port to DVI adapter. The monitor doesn't put out an EDID over VGA, and it seems the DVI is screwed up too. It does work on another machine with DVI on an nVidia card, but for whatever reason it doesn't play well with the Intel GM4500. You can close it if you want.
