This comes from the glshaders... Next version will deactivate them by default.

This looks like a duplicate of bug 480553: compare http://launchpadlibrarian.net/35520790/StellariumScreenshot.png from comment https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/stellarium/+bug/480553/comments/1.

stellarium version 0.10.3 from https://launchpad.net/~showard314/+archive/ppa fixes that bug on lucid.
Tested with 2010-02-16 64 bit iso loopback mounted from hd with grub2; intel graphics

Omair, can you try the ppa version and confirm?

Closing by setting to invalid. I do not think this remote bugwatch is really kept up to date manually.

I am using Ubuntu Lucid with Stellarium 0.10.4
Until yesterday it all worked fine. The only changes I made that I can think of were installing recordmydesktop, gtk recordmydesktop and istanbul.
I've tried uninstalling Stellarium and reinstalling.
Here is a screencast of the problem.
