Deactivating milestone results in "Oops"

I was using milestones to indicate milestones already achieved. I edited the milestone I just added, and unchecked the "Active" checkbox, since I do not want it to show up for bug targeting.

(Maybe a documentation issue. The page states that the "Active" checkbox indicates "Whether or not this milestone should be shown in web forms for bug targeting.")

This appears to be in some way related to trying to format the
Milestone.date on the Overview page (which is the page you get
redirected to after making a change; if that page breaks, the
transaction fails.)

I'm taking a closer look now.
