Bug Description

After upgrade from 9.10 (netbook HP 2140) to 10.4. Everything went correctly except the network driver installation. This HP use integrated wifi/bluetooth card, so can't use driver from generic kernel:

08:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g (rev 01)

When I rebuild driver, after reboot to new system, using command:

dkms build -m bcmwl -v 5.10.91.9+bdcom

and later

dkms install -m bcmwl -v 5.10.91.9+bdcom

network start working. Looks like some upgrade scripts forgot update some information or kernel hook not work when distro upgrade is in progress.

This is not a bug in LP. I have added an Ubuntu task.

Can you please attach the files under /var/log/dist-upgrades

Thanks
