Lucid alpha 2: from fresh boot freezes upon the "enter" key being pressed, acer 5738, upon closing + opening lid, enter key no longer causes freeze

Bug Description
I have no way of narrowing this down without help so here it goes:
- this has all started after a update from (up to) a week ago...
-my laptop is an acer 5738, I am running 64 bit with the "acer laptop" keyboard layout
-if i close my laptop lid, then open, enter no longer freezes the system
-ctrl alt bkspace does nothing (visible)
-things like flashing cursors freeze
-wifi H/w button is not frozen..
-HDD lights continue to blink etc...
so basicaly the gui freezes, but I have an intel graphics thingmy....gma9500 i think or something simmilar? Its definately not ati or nvida...
sorry, I am really tired so excuse my appauling spelling, grammer, and writing skills...
