Desktop should be accessible by mouse at the bottom of 'floaty' style

I am using avant-window-navigator-trunk 0.3.9.1~bzr1889-1.9.10 from the PPA.

When I put awn in 'floaty' style and try to click, right-click or scroll somewhere on the bottom 5 pixels of the screen (below the dock), the clicks don't go through to the desktop (or whatever windows might be beneath awn), but are instead caught by awn. This does not correspond with what one would expect from what is seen visually.
