Bug Description
Binary package hint: xorg
failsafeX doesn't have an option to restart X after editing the configuration. Also it doesn't have an option to restart the system, so the user is thrown back to the console.
Offtopic, but I guess obvious enough for someone who'd reply to this report:
It's clear that the Cancel option in the root menu is useless; I wonder how difficult it would be to remove it (it's standard dialog?), but I can't even figure out what application is it (and where is the source).

Yeah it's a standard dialog, implemented using zenity. I don't think the button can be easily removed, but it could be directed to do something more useful if you'd like.
The code is in /etc/gdm/failsafe* if you care to do some hacking. I'm very appreciative of patches.
