Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-bluetooth

When I click System -> Preferences -> Bluetooth the window pops up and I can read "Your computer doesn't have any Bluetooth adapters plugged in." But BT is working fine, I can scan for BT devices with "hcitool scan" and ping them with "l2ping"

Ubuntu is 9.10
gnome-bluetooth is 2.28.1-0ubuntu2

I tried but modprobe bluetooth says:

FATAL: Module bluetooth not found.

The output of the command 'lsmod |grep bt" seems to not be complete, as the btusb module is used by 2 other modules.
please redo the command and be sure to not forget some lines.

Run the following command to upload some debugging information to this bug:
apport-collect 516414
and do the process to authenticate.

Thanks a lot.

I redid the command but the output seems to be the same:

ivan@london:~$ lsmod |grep bt
btusb 11856 2

And I'm sure that I didn't forget some lines.

Ivan,

Could you add my ppa to your source.list (refer to https://edge.launchpad.net/+help/soyuz/ppa-sources-list.html if you don't know how), and just install gnome-bluetooth, then kill bluetooth-applet.

Check if it works better.

Else could you also try the ubuntu 10.04 beta on a live CD in order to know if it works better?

Thanks

Baptiste,

I've tried both installing gnome-bluetooth from your ppa and ubuntu 10.04 beta1.

With gnome-bluetooth from your ppa everything's no better than before.

With ubuntu 10.04 beta everything works fine.

It seems I'll just have to wait until ubuntu 10.04 is released...

Thank you.
